The Sanguszkos come from the former Grand Duchy of Lithuania.The progenitor of the Sanguszko dynasty is the son of Prince Fiodor and grandson of Grand Duke Algirdas, Prince Sanguszko Fedkowicz († after 1454), from whose first name the name of the dynasty is derived.
